Objective:
Compose a drawing with a focal point. Design and paint a pop-art inspired composition utilizing color schemes from class.
Possible Ideas:
- Pics from books or magazines (personal interests, social/ political/ moral/ cultural issues)
- Personal pics
- Pics taken on phone or camera
- Creative designs (shapes, patterns, non-objective, objective)
- Still life (plants, hands, personal items)
Requirements:
- Full page sketch with labeled colors must be completed and check by instructor before painting begins
- Composition must go off at least three sides of paper
- Composition must have an emphasis (focal point)
- Minimum of 4 color schemes must be used
- Paint only one color scheme per drawing
Things You Should Always Do:
- Lightly sketch final draft with pencil
- Use pure black and white minimally
- Budget your time wisely
- Clean your work area and supplies each day
- Take your time
- BE CREATIVE
Things You Should NEVER Do:
- DO NOT leave yourself little time to paint
- DO NOT trace objects for your composition
- DO NOT include names
- DO NOT plagiarize
- DO NOT draw cartoons (e.g. Sponge-Bob, Hello Kitty…)
- DO NOT use electronic devises for non-art/music related content
